Do you want to bring more income into your business? Most of us would say YES to that, I am sure! So how do you make that happen, especially when you find yourself in something of a cash flow crisis?

Here’s a question to start with: how are you feeling about the income streams in your business right now? How are they performing for you, what’s working, and what isn’t?

Maybe you find yourself leaning too hard on one income stream. Or you might know that it’s time to diversify your income streams but have no idea where to start. This can be the moment where that entrepreneurial panic sets in, and that’s not fun for ANYONE.

If this sounds familiar, don’t worry!

There’s always something you can do to jump-start your income. It just takes a little imagination, creativity, and action.

4 ways to create more income in your business

So what do you do if you find yourself in this very common business situation?

Of course, the FIRST thing do is to get grounded Relax, let any panic or worry go, and get present. Know that you CAN make big things happen. This is step zero, so do this first!

Once you feel more calm, centered, and grounded, let’s explore my top 4 ways to bring more income in your business right HERE!

Let’s jump in…

Here are my top 4 ways to bring more income into your business!

1-Expand on the skills you already have

Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to go out and learn a new skill (unless of course that sounds exciting to you!). All you need right now is to look at the skills you already have, and see them in a new light. Then, hone these skills accordingly.

What could this look like? It might mean investing in continuing education or updating your training. It might mean something as simple as attending a webinar or listening to a podcast by an expert in your field. Anything that gives you a new take or an upgrade on what you already know counts!

Now, bring in a dash of entrepreneurial energy, and open up to using your skills in new ways. That could be something like upgrading your current offers, adding additional offers with different focuses, hosting a webinar or a podcast of your own. This is the time to get creative!

What can this do for you? Reimagining your skills can lead to new opportunities that you never could’ve imagine. So stay open to new ideas and possibilities, both inside and outside of your niche/industry, and watch what happens.

By the way, remember this: expanding your skills doesn’t mean that you have to be all things to all people. In fact, it might mean that you niche down even more! Doubling down on something very specific in your niche or industry can be a bold (and profitable) strategy.

2-Reinvent (or create!) your business plan

Do you have a business plan in place? If you do, now is a great time to revisit it, see if it still works for you, and readjust as you need to. If you said “no” (or “what’s a business plan?”), then this is a perfect time to create one.

If you’ve always identified as an entrepreneur, you might not have a business plan at all. Most entrepreneurs have ideas and execute them well but on a short-term basis. There’s a lot of action, but no long-term vision. This is where a business plan comes in!

Now, a business plan doesn’t need to be complicated. In fact, they’re actually quite simple. To get started, keep this in mind…

A business plan is not an order. It’s an INTENTION. It will help keep you focused on your vision, and it can change as your business grows.

So if you’ve never written one before, consider creating one now. This will help bring in the business owner mindset and give your business the structure it might not have had up until now. A business plan will also make it easier to leverage your skills and creativity even further.

No idea how to start? I break down how to write a business plan in 5 simple steps right HERE.

3-Delegate more, do less

Are you in a position to take on new employees? Now just might be the time to hire. Look at your procedures and operations. If there’s a place where you can delegate the tasks you don’t like and you can afford it, bring on someone to help.

Bottom line? There are people looking for work who might jump at the chance for a new opportunity. And this will also free up your time to focus on your zone of genius. It’s a win-win for everyone!

4-Get creative about how you serve your people

Is there a way you can serve clients and customers in a new way? Now is the time to get creative! Start brainstorming, and see where it takes you.

This is when the power of an entrepreneur mindset can save the day!

For example, I’m an accountant, and offer CFO services for businesses, as well as QuickBooks support and training. But I’m also all about money mindset and Wealth Coaching. So I offer courses and coaching in these areas, too. This way I include all of my skills and passions while serving my clients in new and exciting ways.

Another example is that during COVID, my business helped people apply for SBA loans. It wasn’t a major change to what I already offered–just a shift in focus to give our people what they needed at that time.

Bottom line? Using your skills, talents, and passions in your niche can help you not only serve your people better, but also become a solution-oriented leader. And not only in your business, but also in your industry.

These are just a few ways to create more income in your business! All it takes is to take a look at what you do, evaluate your skills and passions, and realize just how much value you bring to the table. Then, start creating new ways to bring that value to the world.

Now, what do you think? Which one of these steps sounds the most exciting to you? Were you ever in a situation where you need to diversify your income streams and used steps like these?

I’d love to hear what you think. Leave me a comment below and let’s get the creativity started!

Until next time,

Love, light, and MONEY, Honey…
